The competition today was played on the hottest July day in the UK since records began, so well done to all those who played with 12 pairs scoring 36 points or above. Whether they were covered in sun cream, walking in the shade wherever possible, drinking lots of water including cold water from the water buggy, hiding under an umbrella or a combination of some or all, all participants deserved a medal for finishing.
Well done to Mike and Sue from Whittington Heath , winners with 41 points followed by Daphne from Nuneaton and Norman from Walsall with 39 points pipping, Graham and Linda from Robin Hood on the back 9. Sue and Martin also playing at home finished 4th with the last prize being picked up by another visiting pair, Janet and Noel from Walmley with 37 points in 5th place on the back 9.
Nearest the pin on the 5th was Noreen from Atherstone only 28cm from the hole. Nearest the pin on the 16th was Bob from Windmill Village who was 1.71m from the hole.
Finally the Lady Captain wishes to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets for her charity, Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull. £230 was raised today.
