Unusual Ground Conditions
The current extended period of hot dry weather has led to the formation of cracks in the fairway and rough on some holes. A ball coming to rest in or touching a crack, through the green, may be lifted and dropped within one club length, not nearer the hole without penalty under rule 25.1. Interference by this condition with a player's stance is not deemed to be, of itself, interference under this rule.
