Robin Hood Golf Club

Sandra Kerby Lady Captain 2022

Robin Hood Golf Club’s Ladies Section currently comprises over 50 friendly and enthusiastic members, across a range of handicap levels, most of who regularly participate in ladies’ competitions. We provide a good mix of both social and competitive golf to meet the requirements of ladies of all abilities.

The Ladies main competition day is Tuesday when we have reserved tee times in the morning, and there is a full annual programme of qualifying competitions including those where we compete for a wide range of cups, trophies and salvers. There is a good mix of both social and fun competitions too.

Sunday is our nominated alternate day to ensure working ladies are also able to compete in the competitions.

We have strong links with many local Golf Clubs with whom we arrange both ladies friendly and mixed matches and alternate a home or away fixture over a two year programme. All ladies are invited to participate in these matches. Some ladies also participate in the Warwickshire County's League Matches. Many ladies also play 'roll up' golf on other weekdays.

There are several Club competitions held at weekends which ladies can enter, as well as fun competitions with other sections of the Club, such as the EGGs (Elderly Gentlemen Golfing Society), Seniors and B-Team.

We usually offer three Ladies Open Competitions each year as well as two Mixed Opens and further details of these events can be found on our website.

Other popular events include the Lady Captain's Away Day, Lady Captain’s and Lady President's Days and the Ladies Invitation with guests joining us for a friendly greensomes competition and lunch with prizes.

As well as the Club's social calendar, we also organise and enjoy various other social occasions throughout the year such as Ladies Fish Nights and Bridge Drives. These occasions and others enable us to fundraise for a charity chosen by the current Lady Captain over the year of her captaincy.

The Ladies section is keen to encourage new members whether you are new to golf or not.

For beginners, there are ladies-only lessons that are run regularly. The pro shop can help get you on these sessions, or provide more information. Once you have joined the club you will also be assigned a mentor from the ladies section who will help you get around the club, meeting members, take you around the course and answer any questions you might have.

For experienced members, please ask at the pro shop or manager to speak to the Ladies Captain or Vice-Captain. They will get in touch and arrange a time to meet you and show you around and answer any questions you might have.

For any additional information, please ring the office.
