I first began playing golf when I was 9 years old, and since then I have always had a true passion for the game. I started playing county golf from the age of 12, all the way to the end of my amateur career gaining fantastic experience and playing all over the country in various winning teams. Throughout this period, I celebrated many individual highlights, from winning multiple championships, achieving a handicap of plus 3 and representing England.
Since turning professional I have taken a great interest in the technical aspect of the sport and have a true passion for studying the game and the mechanics involved. This led to me being awarded Student of the Year, whilst I was studying at the University of Birmingham as a trainee. Since then I have been very fortunate to work closely with and learn from some of the best coaches in their fields, and still continue to do so.
In 2019, I was appointed as Head Professional at Robin Hood, and I am very proud of my association with the club. I feel as though I have come full circle, as I have returned to the club where I was previously a member, and where my professional career began. I am privileged to work with a golf club that values its membership and always strives to provide a first-class golfing experience.
Jamie was recently awarded the prestigious Foremost Breakthrough Professional of the Year for 2024–2025, in recognition of the outstanding quality of the shop he has built and the exceptional level of service he delivers.
Sue has worked in the Pro Shop for six years, during which time she has developed a strong knowledge of golf while maintaining a genuine passion for the game. In addition to working on the shop floor and building positive relationships with members, she also took on administrative responsibilities.
Sue now holds the position of Shop Manager, where she manages an increased level of administration and works closely with area representatives for various golf brands, gaining further insight into the technical aspects of the sport.
Luke has worked in the Pro Shop for four years and is a reliable and valued asset to the day-to-day running of the shop. He is consistently willing to assist with the wide range of tasks required in a busy pro shop, ensuring operations run smoothly. Luke approaches his role with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, providing dependable support to both colleagues and members and contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment.
Tom is an accomplished golfer and is currently studying to become a PGA Assistant. He plays an active role in delivering Junior Coaching Sessions and independently runs Get Into Golf programs, both of which have proven to be highly popular and successful.
Through these sessions, Tom is building a strong reputation and developing his own private lesson clientele. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Tom also provides valuable support by covering hours in the Pro Shop, contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the business.
